Samurai
is undoubtedly the most influential sire in modern times and
has proved too be one of the most consistent breeding sires
both of show winning cattle and cattle with high EBV's. He
was imported from Canada in 1989 after winning the 1987 Edmonton
Farm Fair, which is Canada's biggest show of Angus cattle.
He sired the Perth Champion in February 1992, the Reserve
Champion in October 1995 and the Intermediate Champion in
1994. In October 1997 he achieved the rare feat of siring
all three Section Champions including the Supreme Champion
which sold for 18,000 gns. He also sired the Female Champion
in February 1994.
He sired the Royal Highland Show Champions in 1996,1997 and
1998 and the Royal Show Champions in 1992, 1994,1996 and 1998
also the Reserve Champions at the Royal Show in 1996 and 1997.
No other sire in modern times has been such a consistent breeder
of Show winning cattle. Many of the females in the herd carry
his blood and the few straws of semen which are left are being
used to introduce his breeding into some of our new families.
What we reckon is his best son born at Netherton has been
retained as our Junior Herd Sire.

Cruz
was imported from Canada in 1997 and has proved to be an exceptional
breeder, leaving very correct cattle with good hindquarters
and exceptional muscling. His progeny have tremendous performance
with top EBV's for Muscling and Back Fat. With a Beef Value
of 38 Cruz is in the top 1% in the breed and he is the trait
leader for muscling and back fat.
He sired the Highland Show Champion in 2000 and the Royal
Show Champion in 2002 as well as quite a number of prizewinners
at these two shows including the Junior Champion at both Shows
in 2000. At Perth he sired the Supreme Champion in 2000 and
the Female Champion in October 2003, his sons have sold to
a top of 13,000 gns and many of them are already proving to
be great breeders. He also sired the All Ireland Champion
in 2002 and his progeny are also leaving their mark in that
country. Many of his daughters have been retained in the herd
and are proving to be exceptional breeders of well muscled
cattle.

This
son of Dalrene Cruz 11F was retained after a very successful
show season in 1999 as a yearling bull. He is a full brother
to the 2000 Perth Champion Netherton Foreign Cruz who sold
for 6000 gns. His dam was probably the best cow we ever bred
(pictured in females) having been unbeaten in the show ring
in 1995. She was also the dam of Netherton Footloose who after
a successful show career was used successfully in the herd
siring bulls to a top of 13,000 gns.
Fabulous Cruz sires cattle with tremendous thickness and muscling
and his sons are always the first to go to our commercial
customers. He has the highest EBV in the breed for muscle
score where he naturally is the trait leader and his Beef
Value is in the top 10%.
Semen available priced £10 per straw (minimum
5 straws) plus delivery. Royalty fee £40.

This
son of T.C. Stockman 365 was imported as an embryo from
New Zealand. He is a full brother to Ranui W Impact 762
who was the New Zealand National Champion in 1999. We imported
semen from Impact and it has been very successful his first
two sons selling in Perth February 2003 for 8000 gns and
6200 gns. His dam is a daughter of Atahua Legacy who was
reckoned to be the biggest bull ever presented at the National
Sale in New Zealand and sold for the top price of the Sale.
Royal Sovereign has developed into a great bull and has
bred some outstanding cattle. His first four sons sold in
Perth averaged £13,125 including Netherto Figo C244
Supreme Champion at Perth and sold for 30,000 gns the highest
price achieved in Perth for 40 years. His first daughter
offered for sale sold in our 80th Anniversary Sale for 9,000
gns equalling the breed record price for a maiden heifer.
After two seasons in the herd Royal Sovereign was sold privately
to Wooton Organic Farms most of his daughters have been
retained in the herd.
His
full brother Netherton Royal Stockman A071 is stock bull
at Retanach and a full sister is retained in the herd.

This
young son of TLA Northern Samurai is out of Kim of Fordafourie
(pictured in females) who is reckoned by many breeders to
be one of the best cows in the U.K. He was our highest performing
bull in 2002 and had an actual 400-day weight of 698 Kg,
which is the highest we have ever recorded at Netherton.
We reckon that this is the best son of Samurai born at Netherton
and is phenotypically very like his great sire and we intend
to use him to introduce Samurai to some of our imported
bloodlines. His first crop of calves are very promising
and he is now the principal herd sire being used in the
herd.

some of our closely line bred females.
His
sire was Ethnicol of The Moss a son of Young Dale Hogan
and he is out of a top Scotch Cap daughter who was also
the dam of Florist, Perth Champion in February 1999. His
first calves look promising and all exceptionally easy calved.
After
two seasons in the herd he has been sold to Messrs J.A.
Keith & daughter for their Weydale Herd.
